"Our Gang”, a beginning theater class for students ages 6 to 7, introduces younger students to basic theater fundamentals. Our “Wiggles” class is for ages 4 to 5. This class introduces the preschoolers to many aspects of theater as they learn to feel comfortable getting up in front of people. Each class prepares a showcase highlighting what they’ve learned which is presented in a stage setting at the end of the term.
Classes are taught by professional teachers and/or experienced performers dedicated to building confidence and self esteem in students. During the 10-week term six fully staged musical productions are produced, presenting 10-12 performances for school groups and public audiences. All currently enrolled students ages 8-18 may audition for any one of the six musicals, which are presented near the end of the term in rented theater facilities, giving students an authentic theatrical experience. Parental involvement is essential and an important part of the success of the children's productions.
